Greeting from the other side!
I decided to create a blog because, in all honesty, it seems like a really fun thing to do. At least it will be fun for me. I have a lot to say; people out there in the world know this, but I just decided it would be more interesting to express my ideas, dreams, fears and general love for my fellow mankind in this manner. So here it goes...

Lovin Blake: This comes from my love of Laurell K. Hamilton and the Anita Blake series. I LOVE to read. No secret there! I spent the last five years reading things I had to in college. Don't get me wrong, I read some amazing works. Hamilton is the first "I can read it because I want to author" since I graduated in December of 2008. She is a true genius. Let me put it this way: She rocked my world! She made me think outside the box; for a fellow writer that is true inspiration. Hats off to you Laurell.

If you don't know yet, my name is Kate. I am a 2008 graduate of Western Michigan University, majoring in Secondary English and History...yes, I want to be a teacher. You'd think finding a teaching job would be somewhat easy, but let me assure you friends it is not. I, unlike most of my other graduates, are settled in northern Indiana, with a house, bills and friends and family around. I'm not going to give that up easily. So it might be back to the drawing board for me.
So I'm "stuck" serving the fine folks of the area in a job I can barely tolerate. Not because of my customers, or my co-workers, but because I'm ready for the next chapter of my life and I am just having a hard time pushing forward to the next step. It would help if the economy was better, but let's face it...it has sucked for quite some time. No blame from me. Bush, Clinton, Obama...I don't play the blame game. We are in a severe crisis and calling names and pointing fingers does NO good. Snap out of it people. Get real!

How is that for a first post? It will get better I promise :) It is late and I have had a long damn day!
